“Giulio Natta” Award
Prof. Hans-Herbert Brintzinger
The Giulio Natta Award 2004 has been assigned to Professor Hans Brintzinger for his fundamental discoveries in the fields of organometallic chemistry, catalysis , polymer science and technology.
Prof.Brintzinger’s scientific achievements, developed fully in line with the guidelines dictated and adopted by Prof. Natta for a rational approach to scientific and technological research activity, have had a significant impact on the molecular design and the industrial production of advanced, environmentally-friendly, polyolefin materials, particularly suitable for improving the well-being of humanity.

“Nicolò Copernico” for Biomedical Sciences
Dott. Christian Faccinetto
The research project presented by Dr. Christian Faccinetto, entitled: “Production of adenoviral vectors with transcription tissue specificity for gene therapy against tumours”, is significant for its innovation in the field. Indeed, the characterisation and use of molecular elements able to confer transcriptional specificity to vectors employed in gene therapy against cancer represents a new step in experimental oncology. The use of these genetic elements is a pioneering approach in the field. Moreover, the proposal indicates an innovative and multivalent strategy to reduce the systemic toxicity shown by previous gene therapy approaches, and addresses th ... continua >>
